About Us
We are a pioneer in providing dental office-based anesthesia.
Special Anesthesia Services launched the first office-based anesthesia practice in Kansas in 1996.
In the past, anesthesia for a dental procedure was done in a hospital or other ambulatory surgery center (ASC). This added more anxiety for patients, was more cumbersome and more expensive.
By providing anesthesia services in dental offices, we eliminate the hospital or ambulatory surgical facility fee and help to make patients generally more comfortable with their surroundings. As a result, insurance, government, and private agency costs are also reduced.
We are dedicated to continuing to bring safe and comfortable anesthesia services straight into dental offices all across Kansas.

Ryan R. Morgan, CRNA, MS
Ryan graduated from the University of Kansas in 2005 with a Master of Science in Nurse Anesthesia. He joined our team in 2006 in a part-time capacity while working as a staff member at McPherson Center for Health. Ryan began providing office-based anesthesia for us full-time in 2010.
Abbey D. Travis, CRNA, MS
Abbey graduated from Texas Wesleyan in 2006 with a Master of Science in Nurse Anesthesia. She started with Special Anesthesia Services in 2007 working part-time as well as contracting at other facilities in the area as a staff nurse anesthetist. Abbey has been a full-time team member since 2012.
Jeremy M. Salsbury, CRNA, MSNA
Jeremy graduated from Newman University in 2008 with a Master of Science in Nurse Anesthesia. He has served in the U.S. Army on Forward Surgical Teams in both Iraq and Afghanistan. Prior to joining our team in 2014, Jeremy worked as a staff member at Via Christi St. Francis and Kansas Heart Hospital in Wichita, KS.

Katie graduated from Newman University in 2015 with a Master of Science in Nurse Anesthesia. Prior to joining our team in 2017, Katie worked at Via Christi St. Francis and Kansas Surgery and Recovery in Wichita, KS.

Jenni graduated from Newman University in 2008 with a Master of Science in Nurse Anesthesia. Prior to joining our team in 2018, Jenni worked at Via Christi St. Francis and Kansas Surgery and Recovery in Wichita, KS.
Lisa Walker, CRNA, MSNA
Lisa graduated from Newman University in 2012 with a Master of Science in Nurse Anesthesia. Prior to joining our team in 2020, Lisa worked at Via Christi St. Francis and Kansas Surgery and Recovery in Wichita, KS.
